Dr. Travis- "There's a new laser treatment, PinPonte Foot Laser System. It's been out since September of 2008. It's a painless way to get rid of Toenail Fungus. Dr. Jim- "I actually had this done. I think it was last year. We were at the pool and you looked at my nails and said "Jim, why don't you do something about that?" And literally a few weeks later, Dr. Radovik came on the show and showed us the nail laser procedure. I thought hey, can I come to your office and do it? And he did it."

Dr. Travis- "Let's talk about it because we are going to show you what's going on during this treatment. That's an ugly looking toe, with fungus. And there's after the treatment. I want to show you what happens during the treatment because you went in, had this done, it's pretty painless. But what you do is you basically spread that laser beam over the entire surface of the nail and nail bed. And about nine months later..."

Dr. Jim- "Yeah, you don't really see any results. What it does, is it kills all the fungus that's underneath the nail and in the nail bed. So any new nail that grows in is going to look good. Just like that."

Dr. Travis- "But it takes months and months and months.

Dr. Jim- "I'm about half way. I'd show them to you now but there only about half way good. So I need another couple of months, let it grow out. 

Dr. Lisa- "That's a funky lookin' toenail." 

Dr. Travis- "Point to all this is, yes there is a cure, right?"

Dr. Lisa- "Yes but also you should take preventative measures."

Dr. Jim- "That's the other thing, he stressed, you can get rid of it but it's going to come back unless I do weekly or every other week, put a little cream on there. I need to spray my shoes with an anti-fungal spray. 

Dr. Lisa- "Shoes can be bad."

Dr. Travis- "Don't walk around the locker room in bare feet."

Dr. Lisa- "Bath mats."

Dr. Jim- "This is so common. It likes to come back."

Dr. Lisa- "Clean your shower, flip flops in the locker room, absolutely."

Dr. Jim- "I didn't want to do the oral medications because of possible side effects."

Dr. Travis- "Those medications, absolutely. And it's not cheap."

Dr. Jim- "It's about a thousand dollars or so."

Dr. Lisa- "Good foot hygiene."
